Current Project List:
- Wedgewood Preserve ongoing Maintenance: the Board works with the City of Asbury to advocate for the ongoing maintenance of the Wedgewood Preserve through weed control applications, restoration where necessary, controlled burns and other recommended maintenance activities.
Greenspace Improvement/Amenity Fund:
- The Greenspace Improvement/Amenity Fund was established in 2016 and set a minimum annual assessment level ($120, increasing to $150 for 2026) with the remainder of funds in excess of the base assessment to be set aside in a Greenspace Amenity/Enhancement Capital Fund. The idea with this initiative is to develop funds, incrementally over time, to be well positioned to respond to future opportunities to enhance our greenspace without the need for a large special assessment. Ideas for future projects include, but are not limited to trail system improvements, additional benches or other amenities around the pond, landscape improvements above and beyond the maintenance commitment level of the City of Asbury, and other ideas to be developed.
- We have used this Greenspace Improvement/Amenity Fund for the Pond Pathway Lighting project as well as improvements to the landscaping around the Doral Dr. parking lot and park benches (part of an Eagle Scout project)
NOTE: The board is always looking for fresh ideas as well as individuals to champion projects. If you have a suggestion, contact a board member or e-mail the President at wedgewoodestatesasbury@yahoo.
